This concert brings together André Barros, Tiago Ferreira, and Paulo Bernardino. After the first product of André and Tiago's collaboration, "A cidade na barriga da mãe" [The City in the Mother's Womb], composed for André's third album of original works ("In Between," 2016), the piano duo has since created several works together, which have been performed at various live performances. These include concerts at the Porto and Lisbon Coliseums as opening numbers for performances by Rodrigo Leão & Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra (2017) and Wim Mertens at the Casa da Música (2016). They have also performed internationally, such as at the Amorgos Film Festival in Greece. Their compositions are sometimes nostalgic, sometimes very joyful, yet exceptionally melodic and always engaging, a blend of jazz improvisations. Their music, played by these four hands, evokes a range of emotions. They have just returned from Iceland, where they are working on their first joint album at Sundlaugin Studio (founded by the iconic Icelandic band Sigur Rós), released under the Leiria-based Omnichord Records label. Paulo Bernardino, a prolific clarinetist who also contributed to the recordings for the aforementioned album, will accompany the duo on their upcoming live performances.
