Free Lunch Concert

The UNLV Singers were founded in 1967 by Dr. Douglas Peterson. The ensemble has performed under many names: University Chorus, University Singers, Concert Singers, Chamber Chorale, and it’s current name. UNLV Singers has performed hundreds of programs spanning every genre and style, from early, medieval music to contemporary, atonal repertoire, from jazz to opera chorus, enormous choral-orchestral masterworks to intimate chamber consorts. The choir frequently collaborates in concert with Las Vegas area organizations: the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Henderson Symphony Orchestra, Las Vegas Master Singers, Las Vegas Sinfonietta, dozens of world famous popular musicians, and countless high school and middle school choirs.

From its beginning, UNLV Singers has featured the musical gifts of students from all majors and degree levels, encouraging people to make singing and music making an important and integral part of their collegiate lives. In addition to on-campus and local performances, the choir has been privileged to perform and tour across the United States and four countries.

The choir is open to all students through auditions, which take place the week before classes start in the Fall semester.
